ABSTRACT

A 76-year-old male patient was diagnosed with limited disease small cell lung cancer, cT1aN2M0 Stage IIIA. He was treated with concurrent chemotherapy and chest radiotherapy. After three courses of chemotherapy, he complained of nausea and anorexia and was admitted to our hospital. Laboratory examination showed decreased anterior pituitary function. He was diagnosed with anterior hypopituitarism due to pituitary metastasis. After the initiation of glucocorticosteroid replacement therapy, his anorexia and nausea improved. He was also diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. Endocrine function did not improve after whole-brain irradiation for pituitary metastasis, but the nausea and anorexia improved with hormone replacement therapy.
