ABSTRACT

This case concerns a 69-year-old Japanese man who was referred to our hospital for the purpose of detailed examination. He had consulted a doctor with the chief complaint of left chest pain, and multiple tumors under the left pleura had been found on computed tomography. The lesions were limited to the left thoracic cavity, and malignant pleural mesothelioma was suspected. To obtain a definitive pathological diagnosis, a thoracoscopic biopsy was performed, leading to the diagnosis of primary angiosarcoma of the pleura. We report a rare and therefore valuable case of primary angiosarcoma of the pleura.
