ABSTRACT

We presented the case of a 64-year-old man who consulted because of dyspnea. He had been diagnosed as lung adenocarcinoma stage IV and was on chemotherapy. In the course of chemotherapy, he developed carcinomatous peritonitis with chylous ascites, which necessitated repeated paracentesis due to compressive symptoms on the bowel. Lymphangiogram with instillation of iodized oil emulsion (Lipiodol®) was attempted and finally enabled us to detect the site of leakage to control the chylous ascites. He had not complained of bowel distention after the lymphangiography. Lymphangiogram might be effective in identifying the source and improve carcinomatous peritonitis.
