ABSTRACT

Trousseau syndrome, which is often associated with advanced cancer, reportedly has a poor prognosis. We describe two cases with hypercoagulability resulting from Trousseau syndrome, which was ameliorated by treatment for lung adenocarcinoma. Case 1 was a 69-year-old man. In association with lung adenocarcinoma recurrence, he developed concomitant thrombosis and was diagnosed as having Trousseau syndrome. He was EGFR-gene mutation positive and started to receive gefitinib, which ameliorated the hypercoagulability. Case 2 was a 52-year-old woman. She developed thrombosis and was diagnosed as having lung adenocarcinoma associated with concurrent Trousseau syndrome. Hypercoagulability was ameliorated by combination chemotherapy with carboplatin and pemetrexed.
