ABSTRACT

A 58-year-old man was found to have 6 masses localized in the right thoracic lesion during a treatment of brain infarction. A video-assisted surgical biopsy specimen of the mass showed a malignant pleural mesothelioma. Extra-pleural pneumonectomy and lymph node dissection (ND2A) were performed followed by radiation therapy (45 Gy). No microscopic evidence of metastasis and diffuse pleural spread was found in the resected specimen. The patient has been alive without findings of recurrence over 7 years and was a rare case of malignant pleural mesothelioma with multiple nodules.
