ABSTRACT

A 21-year-old woman with no symptoms was referred to our hospital because of an abnormal shadow on her chest X-ray. Lung cancer was suspected, but examinations by bronchoscopy did not reach a definitive diagnosis. A CT-guided needle biopsy led to the diagnosis of Askin tumor because small round tumor cells, CD99 expression, and EWS gene translocation were discovered. She was administered systemic chemotherapy and irradiation before wide excision. She now remains free from local recurrence and metastasis.
