ABSTRACT

Human inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) are pluripotent cell lines that have the potential ability to differentiate into all cell types of human body. iPSCs can be established from somatic cells of each individual. iPSC-based cell therapy among the most promising applications for the field of regenerative medicine. Several ongoing studies are available regarding establishment of a safe and effective cell transplantation therapy by using iPSC-derived differentiated somatic cells. The construction of a clinical-grade iPSC stock library from donors with homozygous HLA allele is also now in progress. Overall, iPSC-based regenerative medicine will soon be provided.
