ABSTRACT

A 64-year-old woman had felt dyspnea and dry cough for about 4 weeks. She had marked hypoxia. Abnormal breath sounds were not heard through auscultation. A chest radiograph showed only a slight hyperinflation, but a chest computed tomography showed diffuse centriacinar nodular densities and ground-glass opacity, and a blood test revealed marked eosinophilia. Transbronchial lung biopsy was performed and revealed bronchiolitis with eosinophilic infiltration. She was treated with inhaled steroid, and her symptoms and nodular densities were improved. This case showed a similarity to the recently reported ''eosinophilic bronchiolitis.''
