A 56-year-old woman had undergone a lower lobectomy for left lung cancer and received adjuvant chemotherapy. Approximately 1 year after exclusion of the lung cancer, she developed anti-ARS antibody-positive interstitial pneumonia. Although dermatomyositis, including antisynthetase syndrome, is frequently associated with malignant tumors, malignant tumors are often diagnosed after the onset of dermatomyositis. Reports of anti-ARS antibody-positive interstitial pneumonia developing after malignant tumor resection are rare. Screening for this disease is important, even after treatment of the malignant tumor.
