ABSTRACT

To understand the situation faced by pulmonologists regarding coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to clarify the differences between work environments in clinics and in hospitals, we conducted a questionnaire survey in Hokkaido. Overall, 80 institutions (49.3%) responded. Many hospitals used social distancing as an infection control measure, but many clinics did not have enough space to ensure social distancing (clinics 51.4%, hospitals 90.7%). It was also found that the stress caused by COVID-19 in clinics is different from that in hospitals. The results from this questionnaire survey suggested that it is important to consider measures for COVID-19 according to each clinical setting in the future.
