Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is an umbrella term for lung diseases mainly involving the alveolar walls. The King's Brief Interstitial Lung Disease (K-BILD) Questionnaire has been used globally to evaluate ILD-specific patient-reported outcomes. However, up until now there has not been a Japanese version of the K-BILD. Here, we describe the development of a Japanese version of the K-BILD linguistically validated via forward translation (English to Japanese), backward translation (Japanese to English), and evaluation of the Japanese translation via a patient survey.
