A 66-year-old woman visited our hospital because of abnormal chest radiograph on a health checkup, which shows bilateral consolidation, reticular shadow, and volume loss. On physical examination, she had exertional dyspnea, pain in the left knee joint, muscle weakness of limbs, and keratinization of fingers and thumbs. She was pathologically diagnosed with myositis accompanied by interstitial pneumonia. Her serological examination revealed she has anti-EJ antibody, among anti-aminoacyl tRNA synthetase (ARS) antibodies. Her symptoms and lung lesions have improved by combination therapy of corticosteroid and immunosuppressant. We suggest that anti-ARS antibody is very useful to make a diagnosis and perhaps to predict a prognosis.
