This case involved a 63-year-old man with a history of treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis. Complaining of a fever, the patient was seen by this hospital on an outpatient basis. Diagnosed with an infected bulla, the patient was admitted. The patient failed to improve despite being treated with antibiotics. On day 26 of hospitalization, percutaneous drainage was performed, and irrigation of the bullous cavity began. Afterward, the Aspergillus genus was detected in fluid retained within the bulla; thus combined administration of antifungal agents was begun. The patient's condition improved as a result.
