The patient was a 59-year-old woman. She was admitted because of a sudden onset of right chest pain after vomiting. Chest contrast CT revealed right hemothorax and hematoma in retroesopageal recess, and multiplanar reconstruction clearly revealed a bronchial artery aneurysm. The diagnosis was a ruptured bronchial artery aneurysm. We performed selective angiography of the bronchial artery, revealing two aneurysms of the right bronchial artery, and we performed bronchial arterial embolization. After successful embolization, hemothorax and hematoma improved, and it has not been seen for 16 months. A ruptured bronchial arterial aneurysm should be considered as one of the differential diagnoses of hemothorax.
